About Norfolk County Council Planning Authority

Norfolk County Council serves as the upper-tier local authority for the region of Norfolk, England. It oversees seven second-tier district councils, including Breckland, Broadland, Great Yarmouth, North Norfolk, Norwich, King's Lynn and West Norfolk, and South Norfolk, each responsible for local planning applications and community development initiatives. The council was established in 2017. The council is currently led by Kay Mason Billig (Conservative), who has held the position since 9 May 2023. Tom McCabe serves as Chief Executive since 7 May 2019. The council comprises 84 councillors serving 4 years terms, with the most recent election held on 4 May 2021.
