Save filtered alerts
Get alerts for only the new applications that match your search filters.
A filtered alert is an alert for a council, town or postcode area that only tells you about the new applications you care about, such as new homes, schemes of 10 or more homes, or anything mentioning "dormer". It is for architects, consultants and contractors who follow one kind of work and do not want every application in their inbox.
How to save one
- Open a council or town page, or search for a postcode.
- Open Filters and choose an application type, application route, number of homes or keywords.
- Select Save these filters as an alert, in the Filters window or next to the search box. The line under the search box shows what the alert will include, for example "New homes, 10+ homes, keyword: dormer".
You know it worked when the button changes to Filtered alert saved and the alert appears in My Searches with its filters listed.
Alerts are sent daily (or weekly, your choice). Each email names the filters in its title, and if you have connected Slack, Microsoft Teams or a webhook, the message names them too.
Managing your filtered alerts
- You can save several alerts for the same place, each with different filters. Research holds up to 10 filtered alerts.
- To change the filters, select the pencil next to the alert in My Searches. The search opens with its filters applied: change them, save the new set, then remove the old alert with the bin icon.
- Date and status are not saved with an alert: it always tells you about new applications, whatever their status.
Common questions
Do I need Research? Yes, saving filters as an alert is part of Research. An alert for every new application in a council, town or postcode area, without filters, is free on every plan.
What happens if I leave Research? Your filtered alerts stop sending, rather than sending you everything without the filters. They show Upgrade to resume in My Searches and start again when you upgrade. Your free alerts carry on as normal.
