Conditions alerts

Get an email when a decision imposes a condition in your field, such as a travel plan or a bat survey.

Conditions alerts are for specialist consultants: ecologists, transport planners, drainage engineers, arboriculturists and others. When a council grants permission it often attaches conditions that need a specialist report before or during building. A conditions alert emails you those conditions, so you can contact the applicant or agent while the work is still open. They are part of the Conditions plan.

How to set one up

  1. Open My Searches and choose the Conditions tab.
  2. Under Phrases in the condition, type the words to look for, separated by commas, for example "travel plan, travel information pack". Capitals do not matter.
  3. Tick one or more Disciplines, such as Ecology or Drainage & flood risk. You need at least one phrase or one discipline.
  4. Under Councils, name the councils you work in, or leave it blank for the whole UK.
  5. Select Preview last 90 days to see what would have matched, then Create alert.

You know it worked when you see Condition alert created and the alert appears in the list below the form. Matching conditions from recent decisions arrive in a daily email, with the condition's text and a link to each application.
