Trees T1-T12 - Ash Trees of varying maturity. All are in various stages of Ash Dieback according to a survey and report by Evans Treecare. Propose to fell the trees before they become a hazard to the property and whilst in a condition for the tree surgeon to carry out the works safely. It is hoped that works can commence at the earliest opportunity before a leaf canopy develops. My neighbours have no objection. The woodland is very dense and within the immediate vicinity of the affected trees are well established fir, oak, hazel and sycamore trees. I do not wish to re-plant. A visit by a case office in 2023/24 following a 2021 successful application confirmed that re-planting was not necessary given the sloping terrain, the existing healthy trees and the density of the woodland.

Pre pruning dimensions W 12m H 18m Post-pruning - W 10m H 18m To achieve a clearance of 4m from garden level. Reasons: To shorten over extended branches towards dwelling, minimal small branch removal from the lower canopy to get a bit more natural light within the property without disrupting the natural shape of the canopy.
Beech (T1) - Following assessment, recommended works include the removal of deadwood and the removal of one identified crossed limb to improve crown structure and reduce the potential for future abrasion. Additionally, at the client's request, consent is sought to reduce the overall crown by up to 30% to contain the size of the tree within its setting. Works would be undertaken in accordance with BS 3998:2010, retaining a balanced crown form and suitable growth points.

G1 1 x Common Beech: Pre pruning dimensions: H: 18m W: 5m Post Pruning dimensions: H: 9m W: 4m 2 x Horse Chestnuts: Taller tre: Pre pruning dimensions: H: 15m W: 4m Post Pruning dimensions: H: 9m W: 4m Smaller tree: Pre pruning dimensions: H: 12m W: 4m Post Pruning dimensions: H: 6m W: 4m Reasons: Beech tree has decay at the base, so the work is being done to reduce the wind resistance on the stem and manage as a monolith going forward. The two horse chestnuts have grown with poor form because of the beech trees dominance.
