Planning Signal API

The Planning Signal API is a read-only REST API for UK planning applications and the conditions on councils' decision notices. Search by council, postcode and radius, keyword, status or date, and pull the results into your own software. It is the same data as the Planning Signal website, which comes from public council planning registers.

Allowances add up if you hold more than one plan. Buy or change a plan on the API page. API plans are separate from the website plans.

Versioning and changes

The version is in the path (/api/v1). New fields and parameters can be added to v1, so ignore fields you do not recognise. Every change is listed in the changelog.

Good to know

Council registers can be incomplete or late, and the council's own register is the official record. Each application's url links to it.
Applicant names and home addresses are never returned, on any plan.
Use is covered by the API & Data Licence: use the data in your organisation and show individual records to your users, credited "Planning data from Planning Signal". No resale or bulk redistribution.
