Get an API key

Read-only access to planning data for your own software, starting with a free demo key.

The API lets your own software read planning applications and decision-notice conditions. It is for developers, data teams and businesses that want planning data inside their own tools. Any account with a confirmed email address can start with a free demo key.

How to get a key

  1. Sign in, or create a free account and confirm your email address.
  2. Open the API page or your subscription page.
  3. Tick the box to accept the API & Data Licence. It says how you may use, store and show the data, so read it first.
  4. Give the key a name if you like, then select Get a free demo key (or Create key on a paid plan).
  5. Copy the key straight away. It is shown only once, so store it somewhere safe.
  6. Send it in the Authorization header of each request: Authorization: Bearer followed by your key.

You know it worked when a request returns data and the response headers show your remaining records. The quick start has a first request in curl, JavaScript and Python, and the API documentation covers every endpoint.

Keep your key safe

  • Use it from your own server, never in a web page or mobile app where others can read it.
  • Lost or leaked a key? Revoke it on the same page and create a new one. Your allowance stays the same, because it belongs to your account, not the key.

The free demo includes one active key. Paid API plans allow up to five.

Use your key with an AI assistant

The same key works with our MCP server, so developer tools that support remote MCP servers and let you set a request header (such as Claude Code) can search planning applications for you. It uses the same plan and allowance as the API. Setup steps are in MCP for developers.
