Proposal
This is for emergency repairs to my listed building. The ceiling partly collapsed last week. I have had a builder come to look and on further inspection the roof is unsafe and unstable and I have been told needs a new roof due to the purlings and wood being unsafe and not fit for purpose, ie too short. The builder recommends removing the wood and purlings and replacing, and then replacing the existing slate. Builder says roof has been rebuilt in the 1970's and it was done badly. During the builder and structural engineer inspection, an interior wall structure is also very dangerous and needs to be taken down, it is not strong enough to hold the roof and close to collapse. builder advises take the wall down immediately as unsafe.
