Statuses and decisions
What Pending, Permitted, Refused and Withdrawn mean.
The status badge at the top of an application tells you where it stands.
- Pending Decision: the council has not decided yet. This is the stage when comments can usually still be made.
- Permitted: the council has granted permission, sometimes with conditions attached.
- Refused: the council has said no. The applicant may be able to appeal.
- Withdrawn: the applicant pulled the application before a decision.
In lists and on council pages, the same statuses appear as Pending, Approved, Refused and Withdrawn.
The Planning Decision section shows the council's own wording, who decided and the date. Some applications are decided by an officer, others by a committee.
Common questions
It says Pending but I heard it was approved. Changes usually appear within a day of the council publishing them. Check the council's own register, then tell us if we are behind.
What does permitted with conditions mean? The council has said yes, but the applicant must meet requirements, such as agreeing materials, before or during building. The decision notice on the council's register lists them.
I want to object. Use the Last date for comments shown on the application, then comment through the council. See Documents and comments.
