Pins and site outlines on the map
Switch the map between pins and the outline of each application's site.
Council, town and postcode searches show applications on a map. For anyone who wants to see exactly which land an application covers, the map can show site outlines instead of pins.
How to use it
- Open a council or town page, or search a postcode.
- Above the map, choose Sites instead of Pins.
- Zoom in. Outlines are drawn when the map is zoomed in to street level; until then the map says Zoom in to see site boundaries.
- Select an outline to see the application.
Two kinds of outline
- Site boundary (council red line): the site boundary the applicant submitted to the council.
- Approximate site (title boundary): where we do not have the red line, the boundary of the registered property at the application's address. It is a guide only: it can be larger than the application site, for example a whole block or estate.
The key under the map says which is which. For the official site boundary, check the plans on the council's own register.
Without an account you can see the outlines, but not the application details.
