Prepare your CSV of sites
The columns we accept and common formatting problems.
Use a spreadsheet saved as CSV, with a header row. Each row is one site.
Required
Each row needs either a postcode, or a latitude and longitude.
Optional columns
- site_ref: your own reference for the site. Uploading a row with a site_ref you already have updates that site instead of adding a duplicate.
- name: a label you will recognise.
- address
- region: for grouping and filtering, such as a division or area manager.
- radius_m: how far around the site to watch, in metres, from 50 to 2000. The default is 250.
- uprn
- tags
Limits
Up to 5,000 rows per file, and the file must be under 2MB. For more sites, split them into several files.
Common problems
- Column names: use the exact names above, in lower case, in the first row.
- Postcodes: include the full postcode. A site given only a postcode is placed at an approximate position. Adding coordinates is more exact.
- Rows we couldn't use: the report after upload lists each one by line number with a reason.
