Two replacement trees are proposed within the site frontage using an engineered planting design, with their final locations to be determined through detailed design and site investigations. The proposal is presented as a revised scheme that would retain four of the six protected trees while addressing the existing conflict between tree roots and the pedestrian surface. See Chapter 6.27 (Option 26) for the removal of T5 and T6 and engineered replacement planting, and Chapter 7.5, Preferred Replacement Planting Design. The location plan is shown on page 13 of the Arboricultural Report.

Tree: One mature Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus) located in the rear garden adjacent to the rear boundary wall. Proposed works: Complete removal (fell to ground level). Reason for the works: The sycamore has grown to approximately the height of the main house and is becoming increasingly constrained by a larger tree located behind it. As a result, it has developed a noticeable lean towards the dwelling as it grows towards available light. The tree is now in close proximity to the property, and we are concerned that as it continues to mature the lean and its size will increase the risk of conflict with the house and create an ongoing safety and maintenance issue. The proposed removal is intended to prevent future problems and to improve the long-term management of the garden.
