The two mature trees are approximately 30m in height, with substantial lateral branches extending over the driveway and neighbouring garden areas. The trees are located approximately 13 metres from nearby residential properties. Previous branch loss has occurred from the canopy, affecting both the driveway and garden areas. As part of ongoing tree management and maintenance, it is proposed that the following works be undertaken by a qualified arborist. 1) Removal of Dead Wood Removal of dead, damaged and crossing branches throughout the canopy, particularly within the inner crown 2) End Weight Reduction Selective reduction of the outer extremities of larger lateral branches extending over the driveway and garden areas to improve branch balance and reduce leverage on extended limbs 3) Crown Reduction Selective pruning the canopy to reduce weight and hazard while safely preserving the tree shape, and thereby reducing the wind sail effect 4) Inspection of previous storm damage. Inspection and, where necessary, pruning of areas affected by previous branch loss and historic storm damage to maintain the long-term condition and management of the trees
