Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, commonly referred to as Solihull Council, serves as the local authority for the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull in the West Midlands, England. As a metropolitan borough council, it oversees the majority of local government services in the area and has been a member of the West Midlands Combined Authority since 2016, enhancing regional collaboration and planning initiatives. The council was established in 1 April 1974. The council is currently led by Karen Grinsell (Conservative), who has held the position since 13 May 2025. Paul Johnson serves as Chief Executive since July 2023. The council comprises 51 councillors, with the most recent election held on 2 May 2024.
