Sturmer is a picturesque village and civil parish in Essex, located just 2 miles southeast of Haverhill and near the Suffolk border. Known for its historical significance, Sturmer was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, and its name derives from the nearby River Stour and the original "Stour Mere." The village has a small population of 525 as of the 2021 census and is also famous for the Sturmer Pippin apple, developed in the 19th century by local resident Ezekiel Dillistone.
