About Snibston
Snibston, located in North West Leicestershire, was historically a rural area that evolved into a coal mining village in the 1830s with the establishment of the Snibston Colliery Company. Although much of Snibston has merged into the town of Coalville, pockets of its rural heritage remain within the civil parishes of Ravenstone with Snibston and Hugglescote and Donington le Heath, including the 13th-century St Mary’s Church, the smallest church in England still in use.
