Royal Mail are proposing to remove a lamp box from a telegraph post due to it being replaced.

Proposed to undertake the following work that is considered to be exempt from the Electricity Act 1989 by falling within the Overhead Lines (Exemption) (England and Wales) Regulations 2009.

Following a customer request for a three phase connection NGED will be required to upgrade the existing overhead network to facilitate the connection. The work will require the erection of a third wire from pole number 43MA34 - 43MAA9B for approximately 760m. As part of these works the high voltage line will be refurbished, all 12 poles will be replaced on a like for like basis due to their condition, highlighted in green on plan 4753943SECT37. NGED will also be required to upgrade and refurbish the existing single phase low voltage network. Due to engineering constraints it will be necessary to install approximately 36m of underground mains cable from pole 43-1106-4 to new pole A, from where an overhead span will be erected to new pole B. The appropriate traffic management will be in place during the works spanning the highway. From new pole B an overhead conductor will be connected to existing pole 43-1106-6, shown as the pink highlight on plan 4753943SECT37. Once completed the existing spans between poles 43-1106-4 to 43-1106-6 will be dismantled and the intermediate pole 43-1106-5 will be removed, highlighted in blue on the plan 4753943SECT37. The existing single phase open wire will be replaced with an aerial bunched conductor, considered a design successor and 6 poles will be replaced on a like for like basis from pole 43MAA12 to 43-1106-4 and from pole 43-1106-6 to 43-1106-7, also highlighted green on plan 4753943SECT37. The new three phase connection will be provided by an underground cable from pole 43-1106-7 in private land. These works will enable the connection to three phase across the network in this location and improve the security of supply.
