young ash tree: dismantle. resons: excessive canker, including at structural unions where there are also deep cracks. General condition of the tree is poor with suspected die back. approx 15% of the canopy was made up of dead branches. Since 3 branches of approx 3 and 4'' diameters have failed, landing on and close to the main narrow entrance path to the neighboring property, I have removed dead wood, including some minor reductions to a small number of lengthy lateral branches in the upper crown for safety purposes only. Rather than submitting a 5 day notice I have done the above essential work for the health and safety of the neighbors entering their property, and concluded to make the standard application here now that the tree is somewhat safer, although I urge this application to be prioritised due the the safety needs. Branches are very brittle and the tree has no future value due to form and conition.
