The tree exhibits extensive decay within the main stem, including a large open cavity and significant loss of structural material. Its structural integrity is substantially reduced, and the canopy shows reduced vitality consistent with advanced physiological decline. Based on a visual inspection from ground level, the tree is considered to present an increased risk of partial or whole failure. Removal is therefore proposed on safety grounds and in accordance with good arboricultural management. Replacement planting: One replacement Crab Apple tree (Malus sp.) will be planted within the curtilage, in the approximate position shown on drawing 2080/T001, during the first available planting season following removal.
