In addition to ongoing dead-wooding, we want to reduce the crown by 50% to avoid future safety issues of low-bending branches and wind damage (see previous applications for branch removals). The tree is in generally poor condition, with continuing die-back of limbs and a much peeling bark (see photographs). Reducing its size should help to keep it healthier for longer.
