Reasons - Create light to the patio area and through the lower crown to the lawn, whilst having a minimal effect on the vigour, health, and form of the tree. It was noted that exudations from the lower stem of gum/black watery liquid could be a symptom of Phytophthora or acute oak decline. The upper crown has thinned, smaller leaves, and chlorosis present. Regular monitoring of this and the other two oak trees in the garden is recommended.
