LONDESBOROUGH CONSERVATION AREA: Parkland tree clumps - T1 leylandii/western red cedar x2: fell, The conifers are poisonous to cattle, but are also suppressed and will be removed as part of the selective thinning process. Oak x3: fell as suppressed, Rowan: fell as suppressed, Birch x2: fell to thin. T2 Beech x2: fell to thin, T3 Beech x4: fell due to squirrel damage and to thin, T4 Norway Spruce: fell as suppressed, T5 Oak x4 fell to thin as poorly formed trees, T6 Ash, Oak x2, Larch, Norway spruce: all to fell as suppressed and poorly formed. We are currently improving the parkland, removing old fencing and replacing lost trees in new parkland guards. Part of our parkland plan is also to selectively thin some of the parkland clumps to remove poorer suppressed stems and allow retained trees to develop a good crown structure for long term retention. There are 6 parkland clumps detailed on the plan, as they are only small they are numbered T1 to T6.
