Why it was refused

  1. The evidence submitted as part of the application to fell the Pine, the subject of Tree Preservation Order No. 7 of 2025, is not considered sufficient to demonstrate that the tree currently poses an unacceptable risk. No Arboricultural Report or other objective technical evidence has been submitted to substantiate the claims made within the application. As such, its removal would not be in the interests of good arboricultural practice.
  2. The Pine is considered to make a significant contribution to the amenities of the area and to the local landscape and is considered to possess important environmental value. As such, its removal without sufficient arboricultural justification would be contrary to the Town and Country Planning (Tree Preservation) (England) Regulations 2012, which seek to protect trees covered by a Tree Preservation Order.
