What is proposed
The STEP Fusion Project comprises a prototype spherical tokamak fusion powerplant, associated power generation and grid connection infrastructure, substations, cooling systems, site access, utility connections, security measures, construction compounds and associated landscaping. The Scheme is intended to demonstrate commercial-scale fusion energy generation and export electricity to the national grid from the West Burton site in Nottinghamshire.
