What is proposed

Peak Cluster will deliver carbon capture and storage (CCS) infrastructure to decarbonise vital UK industry. A new high pressure pipeline network will convey carbon dioxide from new build carbon capture facilities to be constructed at existing lime and cement manufacturing sites in Derbyshire and Staffordshire to a coastal network exchange point and compressor station for onward transport to suitable geological carbon dioxide storage under the east Irish Sea. Carbon capture equipment at industrial sites and Above Ground Installations (AGIs) will be installed, along with other associated infrastructure.
