What is proposed
LionLink is a proposed electricity link between Great Britain and the Netherlands that will supply up to 2.0 gigawatts (GW) of electricity and will connect to Dutch offshore wind via an offshore converter platform in Dutch waters. It is proposed that the project would involve the construction of underground High Voltage Alternating Current (HVAC) cables from the proposed Kiln Lane Substation to a Converter Station located to the southeast of Saxmundham, underground High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) cables from the Converter Station to a Landfall at Walberswick and offshore HVDC cables from the Landfall to the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) with the Netherlands.
