What is proposed
A national grid reinforcement project to include a new double circuit 400kV overhead electric line in England between Carlisle and the England-Scotland border, to connect to a new 400kV substation to be built near Carlisle and a connection from the substation to the existing network. Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN) will develop the section of the project in Scotland.
