Calon y Gwynt Energy ParkPlans, timetable and how to have your say

A development of national significance in Wales in Powys. Developments of National Significance in Wales are decided by the Welsh Ministers, not the local council, after Planning and Environment Decisions Wales has examined the application. Since 15 December 2025, new projects of this scale go through the Significant Infrastructure Projects process under the Infrastructure (Wales) Act 2024 instead, and need an infrastructure consent order from the Welsh Ministers; cases notified before then continue as Developments of National Significance.
