About Oxford City Council Planning Authority

Oxford City Council serves as the local authority for the historic city of Oxford in Oxfordshire, England. With roots dating back to medieval times, the council has undergone various reforms and, since 1974, operates as a non-metropolitan district. Planning applications in the area are managed by this council, while broader county-level functions are handled by Oxfordshire County Council. The council was established in 1 April 1974. The council is currently led by Susan Brown (Labour), who has held the position since 29 January 2018. Caroline Green serves as Chief Executive since February 2021.
