Hampshire County Council (HCC) serves as the upper-tier local authority for the non-metropolitan county of Hampshire, England, supporting around 1.4 million residents. Established in 1889, HCC delivers essential county-level services across eleven of the thirteen districts within the ceremonial county. As one of 21 county councils in England, it plays a crucial role in local governance and planning applications in the area. The council was established in 1 April 1889. The council is currently led by Nick Adams-King (Conservative), who has held the position since 23 May 2024. Gary Westbrook serves as Chief Executive since 4 August 2025.
