1 No. Ash (T1) - Felled. Due to limbs of the tree falling off. This is especially dangerous as it is near the pavement and is a risk to walkers.

1 No. Silver Birch (T1) - Reduce crown by approx. 2m overall, pruning back to suitable growth points. This will bring the crown back to a more appropriate size whilst maintaining a natural and balanced form. The works will be carried out selectively to retain the tree's overall structure and amenity value.

1no. Oak (T1) – Crown Reduction. Reduce crown by approx. 2m, pruning back to suitable growth points and retaining a natural and balanced crown structure. The tree is showing signs of crown dieback, including dead and dying branch tips. The proposed reduction will reduce the extent of the affected crown, reduce the potential for deadwood to fall and allow the tree to be maintained at a more manageable size. The works will be undertaken selectively to retain suitable live growth and promote growth and a healthy, balanced crown structure.

1no. Oak (T1) - Fell to ground level and consider replacement planting with a suitable tree to maintain tree cover at the site. Tree is exhibiting symptoms consistent with Acute Oak Decline, including progressive crown dieback, thinning of the upper canopy and areas of bark loss at the base of the stem. Sawdust/frass is also present around areas of bark loss, indicating insect activity within the affected areas. Tree appears to be in advanced decline and, given its proximity to the neighbouring property and the footpath, removal is considered the most appropriate course of action to manage the associated risk.

1no. Conifer (T1) - Fell to ground level, showing signs of die back. Plans to replant another tree are in place.

1no. Chestnut (T1) - Reduction of the overhanging branches to reduce the extent of the canopy over the adjacent house (no. 68 Ashdown Road) and shed roofs by approx 2-3m together with the removal of one specific branch which are contributing to the accumulation of leaves, twigs and other natural debris on the roofs and in the associated gutters. The proposed works are intended to reduce the volume of debris falling onto the roofs, minimise the risk of blocked gutters and potential damage to the roofs, and improve the clearance between the tree canopy and the building. The works will be limited to the minimum extent reasonably necessary and will be retained in its entirety. Aim of maintaining the tree's health, natural appearance and contribution to the local landscape.

1 No. Sweet Chestnut (T44) - Crown lift providing 10m of ground clearance. To clear the adjacent property as it is substantially overhanging the property at 301 Hursley Road. 1 No. Oak (T40) - Crown lift the lower lateral limbs keeping branch wounds to 50mm. To clear power lines by 2m, given its proximity to SSE power lines, and public safety considerations.

1no. Oak (T1) - Crown thin by 10% to gain more light into the property, wounds to be kept below 30mm. 1no. Pine (T2, originates from no. 6) - Reduce 2x lateral limbs to give a 2.5m clearance from the property (5 Clevelands Close) to mitigate any issues in the future of branches fouling the property.

1no. Silver Birch (T1) - Fell to ground level due to poor physiological state of the tree which has been occurring over the last four years. There is no reasonable reduction of the crown possible that would prolong the life of the tree as tree is unlikely to respond well to pruning. Replant with another Birch.

T3 - Beech - Reduce crown by up to 4m

1no. Sweet Chestnut (T1) - Raise to statutory height over footpath and highway as advised by Hampshire CC Section 154 Notice. 2.3m above pavement & 5.2 above road.

1 No. Unspecified - Removal of tree, as tree is dead.

2 No. Dead Silver Birch - Remove both trees, as they are dead.

Erection of shed

Two-storey side extension and single storey rear extension, with pitched roof over existing garage and porch

1 No. Rowan (Rowan tree) - Cut the tree at a height of 1.5 meters off the ground, The tree appears dead above this point and the main trunk is largely hollow. There a two branches close to the ground which appear to be in reasonable health, and I would like to retain for now.

1 No. Holly (T1) - crown raise to 3.5m. Tree is growing over public foot path and encroaching on residents' outbuilding.

1 no. Larch (T31) - reduce lateral branches as marked on the south side by up to 3m back to suitable growth points, leaving a remaining lateral spread of 3m overhanging in order to prevent potential structural damage to the shed roofs and reduce heavy debris accumulation on the roofs and in the house gutters, as well as alleviating excessive shading, whilst maintaining the natural shape and health of this tree.

As highlighted in the attached documents. The works are traditional coppicing at Hocombe Mead Local Nature Reserve. The works are prescribed in the 2016-2025 management plan (signed off by Natural England) and form part of the numerous conservation activities carried out on site to maintain and enhance the area for wildlife. Coppicing works have previously been consented as shown in the attached consent form T/16/79061

1no. Redwood (T4, originates from no. 30) - Crown lift of bottom 9 branches, to increase the amount of light reaching ground level. This is necessitated due to the dense nature of the tree's branches. This amounts to no more than a crown lift of 1m.

1 No. Sweet Chestnut (T1) - Crown lift 3x lower branches by 3.5m to allow room underneath tree to stop the customer hitting their heads. 1 No. Beech (T2) - Crown lift lower branches by 5m and reduce branch back away from strawberry tree to give a 2m clearance, to allow ground clearance.

1 No. Oak (T1) - Crown reduction by 1.5m to curtail growth & shading of properties. 2 No. Oak (T2 & T3) - Crown lift, removing lower secondary branches to give 6m clearance over rear garden & improve shape.

1 No. Group Leyland Cypress (G1) - Reduce height of trees by 4-5m just above previous reduction points. To maintain size.

Turkey Oak (T3) - Crown lift to 6m and crown reduction by 2-3m. Remove epicormic growth from trunk and canopy. Overhanging Malcolm road and the garden 1 no. Pedunculate Oak ( T6) - Crown lift 6m with crown reduction by 2-3m. Overhang getting closer to the house. All are in good health. Full survey done by CBA in 2022 and they provided some advice for future health hence the request.

Sycamore (T1) - Crown reduce selected eastern and southern lateral scaffold limbs by up to 2m (back to suitable growth points) to remove dysfunctional wood and reduce end weight on extended limbs. To retain the tree’s natural shape and amenity value. The eastern and southern scaffold limbs contain areas of dysfunctional wood and exhibit extended lateral growth over the adjacent neighbouring property. The proposed selective reduction will reduce mechanical loading on the affected limbs, lessen the likelihood of branch failure and form part of routine arboricultural management whilst retaining the tree’s overall health, structure and public amenity.

1 no. Cedar (TPO 251- E) - Partial reduction of 2 boughs. Branch A - Reduction of 7m. Cut would be 3m from the trunk. Branch is brushing the roof. Branch B - Reduction of 5m. Branch is brushing gutter and roof. To keep the cedar free of damaging the roof. Especially in heavy rain when they could cause real damage.

1no. Sycamore (T1) - Remove 1 piece of epicormic growth on the main stem and remove growth to give a 2m clearance from the house. 1no. Sweet chestnut (T2) - Infected and dying with Honey fungus, reduce the main stem by 3-4m in height to circa the stub and stronger epicormic growth. 1no. Sycamore (T4) - Dead and Infected with sooty bark disease, sectional fell to ground level and remove all arisings from site. Proposed works are to ensure good/safe clearance is maintained.

1 no. Oak (T1) - To carry out a reduction on lower limbs (Approx. 2 limbs) of canopy to provide clearance of house at tv ariel of 2 meters. The limbs will be reduced back to where they have been reduced previously before.

1no. Sycamore (originated in garden of no. 43 Western Road) - Crown lift 6m over side facing 41 Western Road. Remove lower drape branch over Garden only removal of small branches to fork union. Works to allow light into the garden.

First floor extension over the existing ground floor garage conversion

1no. Beech (T1) - Crown reduction by up to 3m from branch tips throughout the crown, maintaining natural shape and balanced form. Removal of dead, diseased, damaged and crossing branches where appropriate. 1no. Oak (T2) - Crown reduction by up to 3.5m from branch tips throughout the crown, with particular attention to reducing the lateral spread towards property while maintaining the tree’s natural shape and balanced form. Removal of dead, diseased, damaged and crossing branches where appropriate. T1 & T2 have reached maturity and now have extensive crowns, measuring approx. 18m and 16m in spread respectively. The size and density of the canopies result in significant overshadowing of the rear garden and rear elevation of the property, substantially reducing natural daylight and limiting the reasonable enjoyment and use of the garden. T2 is situated approx. 4m from the rear elevation of the property and, because of its proximity, has a greater impact on daylight reaching both the house and the immediate garden area. A slightly greater crown reduction is requested to improve light penetration while retaining its natural form, health and amenity value. The proposed works represent sympathetic management of two mature trees and are intended to maintain them as healthy, structurally sound specimens in accordance with BS3998:2010.
