Why it was refused

  1. The planning condition remains necessary to secure electric vehicle charging infrastructure in support of sustainable transport objectives, air quality improvements and the transition to low-emission vehicles. The Local Planning Authority considers that the continued provision of electric vehicle charging infrastructure within the application site remains justified. Accordingly, the proposed removal of Condition 8 would be unacceptable, contrary to Policies JP-S1 and JP-S5 of the Places for Everyone Joint Development Plan, Policy CP17 of the Wigan Local Plan Core Strategy, saved Policy EV1B of the Replacement Wigan Unitary Development Plan, the Council's Development and Air Quality Supplementary Planning Document, and Policy P3 of the National Planning Policy Framework. Statement under Article 31 (1) (cc) of the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order 2010 (as amended)
