The Saltisford Canal Trust is seeking prior approval for the installation of a roof mounted solar array under GDPO schedule 2, part 14, class JThe reason for installation of the PV array is to reduce the Trust's reliance on grid supplied electricity in order to save money and reduceemissions of carbon dioxide. This will contribute towards the Warwickshire County Council plans ' tackle climate change, promote biodiversityand deliver on our commitment to net zero'Solar panels proposed are 395 W mono MBB percium half cell black solar modules, fitted to a support framework on the visitor centre roof. Intotal there will be 8 solar modules which are visually sympathetic in terms of appearance and low glare . These panels will face due south andproject no higher than 200mm above the roof surface and are to be set a minimum of 1m from roof edges.We confirm that Jane Catterall, Conservation Officer, has visited the site and has confirmed that there are no issues.
