The larger of the two horse chestnut trees (T1), to the north, has significant areas of ingrown bark at the main bifurcation and there is potential for branch loss. The upper canopy has regenerated extremely vigorously from the previous cut points, decay establishing at these points together with excessive weight will cause further risk and require regular pruning. The smaller Horse Chestnut (T2), nearest to the pedestrian entrance and opposite the post box, has less ingrown bark and physical defects. It could be retained in the medium term, however the multiple regrowth from previous cut points will need to be managed. Crown lifting would be of benefit to prevent encroachment of the village hall.
