Upper Wawensmoor Barns is an established, small residential development consisting of 6 barn conversions. This application is on behalf of the residents management company, Upper Wawensmoor Barns Management Company Limited (UWBMCoLtd). The applicant David Walker is a Director representing the company.The registered address for the company for correspondence is Pear Tree Barn. The work is being carried out on the private freehold land owned by the management company adjacent to the 6 dwellings. The 6 dwellings are all privately owned and are serviced exclusively by the existing Sewerage Treatment Plant. No other property uses or has access or will be affected by the application to replace/upgrade the existing plant.UWBMCoLtd wish to replace/upgrade the existing private Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) to a modern more effective and efficient Sewerage Treatment Plant that is fit for the future requirements and standards.The existing STP is over 30 years old and was installed when the location consisted of commercial premises. The development was converted to 6 residential properties following planning consent 15/03533/couc. The existing STP has building control approval as part of that planning consent. On 14/6/22 at our regular quarterly Board Meeting, a decision was made by the Management Company - to replace/upgrade the STP in a timely and responsible way. The existing plant is becoming less efficient, more expensive to run and maintain and less reliable. The decision has been made not only to upgrade the STP to improve its efficiency but also to move the STP to a more appropriate location. The more appropriate location is considered more Appropriate in terms of safety and aesthetics to the existing location and landscape.
