Proposal
Tree 1 - Plum Tree - Prune back - The tree is overhanging the road and interfering with overhead cables. Nearest the road (south east corner) - this tree has a lot of dead growth and is heavily covered by ivy indicating that it is very much in decline. The dead growth and ivy will be removed. Branches hanging over the newly planted hedge will be reduced by about 2 m. The overall height will be reduced by about 1 m. Branches over the road and the neighbour's drive will be reduced to minimize risk to pedestrians and cars. Branches affecting the power cables and telephone lines will be cleared. Tree 2 - Plum Tree - Prune back - The tree has grown excessively to one side and the canopy is creating heavy shading to the pub garden / proposed children's play area and the lower branches are causing obstruction to access to the garden and the proposed new children's play area. Central tree - rebalance the tree by removing about 3 m of growth from the north side and about 1 m from the top, and then prune the remainder to take out dead or crossing branches. Clear the branches affecting the telephone wires. Tree 3 - Plum Tree - Prune Back - The tree has grown heavy on one side and is substantially overhanging the car park which has the potential of causing injury to pub customers. Nearest the garage (north east corner) - remove the weak secondary trunk and then remove any dead or crossing branches higher up. Clear the branches affecting the telephone wires and the ones resting on the neighbour's shed. Reduce some of the growth over the Chequers Garage fence and some of the growth affecting the Phelp's tennis court fence. Reduce the overall height by about 2 m.
