Sycamore: Rear garden: Historically this tree has been regularly crown reduced to mange the size of the tree in a relatively small area. The trunk bifurcates at 3-4 metres above ground level and is smothered in Ivy this could potentially be a weak point. Proposed works: Reduce the crown by 2 metres and thin out the crown by 15%. Sever the Ivy at ground level taking a 1 metre strip all round, shave the Ivy and allow to die off.
