T556 Horse Chestnut - Pollard at 4m above ground level where crown breaks. The tree is suffering from a bacterial infection - most likely phytophthora, first noted in 2018. The exudate/slime flux on the main stem has got increasingly worse since 2018 meaning that the tree is not fighting the infection and compartmentalising the internal decay. It is therefore weak as a result of the infection. The crown has recently shed a sizeable limb without warning. The tree is situated immediately adjacent to the main access road into site which is used regularly. If the tree is pollarded at 4m, it can be retained and the risk of additional limb failure is reduced. It can then be managed as a pollard going forward. T575 - Lime (T2 of TPO) - Pruning back to previous pruning points to minimise breakage at these knuckles. The work is very minor and would be of benefit to the tree to prevent branch breakage.
