Blue Cedar (T2) - Fell due to very poor condition and close proximity to high value beach and cockspur thorn. Crown is in very poor condition, branches failing and bracket fungi at base. New cedar to be planted but at southern end of field due to the high density of maturing trees at northern end. Turkey Oak (T6) Fell and replant Native Oak in space to mature. Proposing to fell Turkey Oak in order to allow neighbouring Dawn Redwood to continue maturing as a well balanced specimen. Turkey Oak is begining to encrouch on the crown of the Dawn Redwood. Also at the height of 5 metres there is a large co-dominant stem and serval tight unions which could easierly fail and damage higher amenity trees in the vacinity. Both groups of trees are intressing but poor planting is now becoming an issue with light and nutrients becoming a battle. The oak is not playing any part of a visual vista and is a host for the gall wasp. Removing and replanting a large English or Sessile Oak in the tree line would be desireable.
