1) Plum - cut remaining stem to about 2.5m (ie. to just above the sprouting regrowth above the rip wound. The main stem of this tree failed (over half of it ripped off due to included bark) earlier this year falling on the wall and the neighbour's lean-to. This has left a long thin stem which is structurally compromised by the rip wound. Ms Sargeant would like to keep the tree so we intend to cut the remaining stem to just above the epicormic sprouts (see picture 1) to reduce stresses on the wound area. 2) Elder - remove stem leaning over neighbour's outbuilding by cutting back to second upright from base (leave remainder) - see picture 2
