Why it was refused
- The proposals would introduce a large and visually obtrusive structure which would appear as an uncharacteristic and alien feature within the street scene, at odds with the character of the area and the proposed planting and green roof would fail to satisfactorily mitigate the impact. The development would therefore result in visual harm to the setting and principal views of the host dwelling and the street scene contrary to Policy SP1 of the Council's Core Strategy and policy EN1 of the Sevenoaks Allocations and Development Management Plan and policy D3 of the National Planning Policy Framework. Notes for the applicant The Officer’s Report, which explains the assessment of the proposals and the reasons for the Council’s decision, is available to view on the Council’s website using the above
