Planning Decision
Why it was refused
- By reason of its scale and cumulative impact, the proposed rear additions, when assessed against the size of the original building, would result in a disproportionate enlargement of the building. The development would therefore constitute inappropriate development within the Green Belt which is harmful by definition, and harm to the openness of the Green Belt. No very special circumstances have been identified which would clearly outweigh this harm. As such, the development is contrary to Policy SP07 of the Pendle Local Plan Fourth Edition (2021-2040) and Policies GB6 and GB7 of the National Planning Policy Framework.
