Planning Decision
Why it was refused
- The large flat roof element and significant increase in eaves and ridge height of the property combined with the new complex roof design and two storey front extension would result in a design that would be incongruous with both the proposed dwellinghouse itself and the character of the area. The proposal therefore constitutes poor design and is contrary to the visual amenity aims of Policies QOP 1 and QOP 2 of the Northumberland Local Plan, Policy PNP 2 of the Ponteland Neighbourhood Plan, and the NPPF.
From the council's decision notice.
