This project is for the provision of a bus lay-by (standard layout) along the eastern side of the Whitesides Road to create a safe pedestrian landing for people returning from Ballymena by bus (children in particular, coming back from school). A new section of footpath approximately 55m long is to be created along the eastern side of the Glebe Road to encourage pedestrians to cross this road further away from the busy junction. It is intended that both the lay-by and this section of public footpath will become adopted by Dept. of Infrastructure. Two public information timber signs are to be provided at the junction, one welcoming visitors to Whitesides Corner and the other to Hilltowm. These are to be located within wide grass verges.
