REAR: ONE Pear (T1)(ht.7m) FELL. Reason: the tree is starting to decline and is dropping small branches into the garden. The tree should be felled before it declines further and becomes unclimbable and a further health and safety risk. REAR: ONE Unidentified Stump. (T2) Poison stump. Reason: The stump is throwing out small amounts of regrowth. The stump is in an area where it is not accessible for it to be ground out. Poisoning is the only option to abate the regrowth problem. REAR: ONE Privet (T3) LATERAL REDUCE by 3m from 3m to 0m to remove stem touching fence on W compass point. Reason: the shrub is growing against the neighbouring fence and is staring to push against the fence causing damage. Single stem to be removed to abate the further risks of damage. REAR: ONE Apple (T4) remove deadwood (exempt works). Reason: The tree has a considerable amount of deadwood but is still in good condition. Removal of deadwood to be carried out to improve the aesthetics of the tree. REAR (no.30): THREE Mixed species (G5) LATERAL REDUCE by 2m from 4m to 2m overhang to fence line, (3rd party tree). Reason: G5 located in the garden of number 30 Lewisham Park, encroaching garden of number 31, part of a regular maintenance programme. REAR (1x in no.32): TWO Hawthorn (T6) LATERAL REDUCE by 1-2m from 4m to 2m to give clearance off garden. Reason: The works are part of a regular maintenance programme. TREE REPLACEMENT PROPSAL: for T1 replacement pear tree, like for like replacement. Informative A: huge thank you for the proposed replacement pear tree for loss of T1 to maintain treed landscape character of rear gardens within the Lewisham Park conservation area. Informative B: thank you also for retaining other trees for amenity, wildlife and shade to reduce increasingly high summer temperatures due to climate change. Informative C: you are encouraged to retain deadwood, dead stumps and create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity including the endangered stag beetle which has a stronghold in SE London.
