Amended works agreed not to fell T1: FRONT/SIDE (Coroners Court): ONE Sycamore (T1)(ht.16m,r.8m) CROWN REDUCE HEIGHT by approx.3-4m to ht.12m, LATERAL REDUCE RADIUS by approx.2m from 4-5m to r.2-3m to previous prune points as marked image. Reason: repeat reduction management for clearance for essential roof maintenance and rainwater goods repairs to the Grade II listed building. FRONT (Ladywell Baths/Playtower): line of 15x Sycamore stems (group T2)(ht.10-12m) FELL. Reason: self-seeded since 2009, growing beside the listed low brick boundary wall, likely to compromise the structural integrity of the heritage asset and to facilitate the urgent restoration of the wall and former ironwork. The Council raises no objection to the following AMENDED tree works to CROWN REDUCE Sycamore T1, not fell, to previous prune points as marked image agreed in agents email of 6 Jan 2026, following tree officer site visit 4 Jan 2026: Informative A: amending the work to crown reduce (not fell) sycamore T1 is greatly appreciated for streetscape amenity, wildlife, setting of the listed coroners court, flood amelioration and shade to reduce increasingly high summer temperatures due to climate change. Informative B: replacement planting is encouraged along frontage of the Playtower to replace group T2, suggest with mixed, mainly native species hedge to include Cotoneaster franchetii, for streetscape amenity, wildlife habitat and to reduce air pollution from the busy Ladywell Road (B236). Informative C: please create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity.
