Planning Decision

Why it was refused

  1. The proposed part two storey, part single storey rear extensions by reason of their scale, bulk and design, would fail to respond positively to the character and appearance of the host building; would fail to appear subordinate in scale; and would disrupt the symmetrical appearance of the wider terrace. This is further exacerbated by the awkward roof junction with the existing rear dormer giving rise to a confused and cluttered rear elevation. It is considered that the proposal would be contrary to Policies Q5, Q8 and Q11 of the Lambeth Local Plan 2020-2035 (2021) and the Lambeth Design Guide SPD (2023). London planning@lambeth.gov.uk SW2 9QQ
  2. The proposed rear extensions by virtue of their scale, siting and dimensions would give rise to an unacceptable loss of residential amenities to the adjoining occupiers at no. 14 and 18 Allnutt Way, contrary to policies Q2 of the LLP (2021).
