Planning Decision
Why it was refused
- The proposed development would result in the loss of parking provision serving the sports ground without adequately demonstrating that sufficient capacity would remain to meet operational demands. Furthermore, the proposal fails to retain suitable on-site provision for coach parking and manoeuvring, creating the potential for coaches and associated vehicles to park on the surrounding highway network. This would exacerbate existing parking pressures on Wood End Road, a heavily trafficked street, to the detriment of highway safety, traffic flow and the character of the street scene. In the absence of robust evidence, including parking accumulation surveys and capacity assessments, the proposal has failed to demonstrate that adequate parking and servicing arrangements can be maintained. The development is therefore contrary to Policies T4 and T6 of the London Plan (2021) and Policies DMT 1, DMT 2 and DMT 6 of the Hillingdon Local Plan: Part 2 - Development Management Policies (2020).
