Planning Decision
Why it was refused
- The proposed replacement windows and doors, by virtue of their design and use of UPVC and composite materials, would harm the visual amenity of the terrace and fail to preserve or enhance the special character and appearance of the Conservation Area. The development would result in harm to the significance of the heritage asset without any identified public benefit to outweigh that harm. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policies HB1 and HB8 of the adopted Places and Policies Local Plan (2020), the National Planning Policy Framework and fails to meet the statutory duty under Section 72 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.
