The tree is a large sycamore (20m+ high) on the driveway of the property adjacent to the wall with West Lodge/The Old Gyrn Arms (currently unoccupied). The tree has a large crown and is leaning a little, primarily towards The Old Gyrn Arms/West Lodge. It has split into two trunks from around 3m above ground level. There is some evidence of minor rot between the trunks, but this is not the primary reason for this application. The proposed works are intended to sustainably mange the tree in its current location: * reduce the height of the tree by around 20- 25% (c.4m) * thin the crown and reshape in accordance with the reduced height .
