Planning Decision

Decision
Refused
Case Officer
Mr Paul Mitchell

Why it was refused

  1. The proposed dormer, by reason of its substantial bulk, scale, height and position within the existing roof slope, would appear unduly dominant and fails to respect the historic form and proportions of the host dwelling. The development would consequently detract from the character and appearance of the dwelling and the wider character and setting of the Louth Conservation Area, which the building positively contributes to. The proposal does not maintain the character of the area or preserve the character, appearance and significance of the Conservation Area and is therefore contrary to SP10 and SP11 of the East Lindsey Local Plan and Policy HE6 of the National Planning Policy Framework.
